Deductive form

A deductive inference necessitates its conclusion by having a certain form. Deductive forms fall into three types:

1. Immediate Inferences

1. Aristotelian Syllogisms

1. Deductions Involving Complex Propositions

There are also several deductive fallacies (invalid forms of argument that are easily confused with deductions) and deductions that seem to have a valid form can in fact be invalid if they commit the fallacy of equivocation.
